About ECOSOC Youth Forum 2021

 

The Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Youth Forum will be held on 7 and 8 April 2021. It will be a virtual event bringing on board young people from around the world. The Forum provides a global platform for a candid dialogue among the Member States and young leaders from around the world on solutions to challenges affecting youth wellbeing. It also serves as a unique space for young people to share their vision and actions as well as to provide youth perspectives on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs. The 2021 Forum’s discussions will be guided by the overall theme of the 2021 High-level Political Forum on sustainable development (HLPF): “Sustainable and resilient recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, that promotes the economic, social and environmental dimensions of sustainable development: Building an inclusive and effective path for the achievement of the 2030 Agenda in the context of the decade of action and delivery for sustainable development”. Consideration will also be given to the group of SDGs decided by the Member States for in-depth discussions at the 2021 HLPF, namely, SDGs 1, 2, 3, 8, 10, 12, 13, 16 and 17. Θα είναι μια εικονική εκδήλωση που θα περιλαμβάνει νέους από όλο τον κόσμο. Το φόρουμ παρέχει μια παγκόσμια πλατφόρμα για έναν ειλικρινές διάλογο μεταξύ των κρατών μελών και των νέων ηγετών από όλο τον κόσμο σχετικά με λύσεις σε προκλήσεις που επηρεάζουν την ευημερία των νέων. Χρησιμεύει επίσης ως ένας μοναδικός χώρος για τους νέους να μοιραστούν το όραμα και τις ενέργειές τους, καθώς και να παρέχουν προοπτικές για τους νέους σχετικά με την εφαρμογή της Ατζέντας του 2030 και των SDGs. Οι συζητήσεις του Φόρουμ του 2021 θα καθοδηγούνται από το γενικό θέμα του Πολιτικού Φόρουμ Υψηλού Επιπέδου του 2021 για την αειφόρο ανάπτυξη (HLPF): «Βιώσιμη και ανθεκτική ανάκαμψη από την πανδημία COVID-19, που προάγει τις οικονομικές, κοινωνικές και περιβαλλοντικές διαστάσεις της αειφόρου ανάπτυξης : Οικοδόμηση ενός περιεκτικού και αποτελεσματικού δρόμου για την επίτευξη της Ατζέντας του 2030 στο πλαίσιο της δεκαετίας δράσης και παράδοσης για αειφόρο ανάπτυξη ». Θα εξεταστεί επίσης η ομάδα των SDG που θα αποφασίσουν τα κράτη μέλη για διεξοδικές συζητήσεις στο HLPF του 2021, δηλαδή στα SDGs 1, 2, 3, 8, 10, 12, 13, 16 και 17.
