Life began in the ocean 🌊and it has sustained life ever since. Our oceans connect us all, from earth to atmosphere to continents and cultures, we have built civilizations around its life-giving environment. The ocean stores 90% of the sun’s🌞heat, which it distributes around the world through its currents moderating temperatures. We need the ocean now more than ever to protect us against climate change. Its resources are not infinite and we have pushed the ocean past its limits. We are seeing its islands drowning, its corals bleaching, its water heating and acidifying causing its food production to decline.
On World Oceans Day, let us change the tide and help the ocean💧 heal.
